My hot take

Theatre today is very much about being relevant and making a stand. I find that sort of troubling. My feeling is that big, powerful ideas are just wrapping paper. Maybe theatre should try being itself, its purpose having always been the representation of crooked things and all that is perverted and wrong, not the pulpit for what we all know to be the truth. It’s not a place for what we all know. It’s where we go to find out something we didn’t.
